When KD moved to a new house, she expressed a need for some dish scrubbies. I was on that immediately, but I thought I would throw in some dishcloths as well. I had never used Knit Picks before, and was surprised to see how much thinner it is than Lily's cotton worsted. I could have still made dish cloths, but decided a dish towel would be a nice change.
Needles: US 6 (4.00 mm)
Yarn: Knit Picks Dishie Twist in Blue
Pattern: my own, inspired by Knit Picks suggestion to use a Bamboo Stitch pattern, using the Chinese Waitress Cast On, Double Chain Bind Off, and slipping the first stitch of every row to give it neat edges all around
I like the way it turned out.
Meanwhile, it's November, and while that curtails what I can blog about, I can certainly keep track of how things are going. In what has become an annual tradition, I airily assured myself that I'm not planning any knitted Christmas gifts, until November, when I realize that I am, in fact, knitting Christmas gifts.
Project 1 is half done. If I continue to knit one pattern repeat a day, I will be done in plenty of time.
Project 2 requires the needles I'm using for project one, which will be a bit of a problem if I can't find spares in that size.
Project 3 is not yet begun, but really tiny, so it won't take any time at all, right?
Project 4 is a whole blog post in itself, but has finally launched and will be done when I run out of that yarn, so it's hard to quantify. It's going faster now that I've solved all its problems.
Project 5 is my hands down favorite - and I just ran out of yarn. It's more than half done, though, and Knit Picks is pretty fast, and it WILL NOT be a big deal that it will be a different die lot.
