Christmas Adam

Title coined by KD for the day before Christmas Eve. I still have a few non-knit gifts to wrap, but meanwhile, here's the final tally:

Project 1 has been received and a picture returned

Project 2 is done and wrapped

Project 3 is done and out for delivery

Project 4 will be picked up again in the new year

Project 5 is done and wrapped

Project 6 will probably be done on time, but doesn't need to be a Christmas present

Project 7 is done and wrapped

I'm taking a brief break from this blog, but will be back in the new year with pictures of all of the above projects, and details of what went on behind the cut-and-dried tally (I'm looking at you, project 5!).

Enjoy the holidays!

A Box Without Hinges, Key, or Lid

Admit it, this looks like an egg. Surrounded by rocks in a location I see daily during my annual vacation, it always catches my eye. It's the wrong shape to be a rock. It doesn't look like any of its neighbors. The question that then remains is... what kind of an egg? Roc? Pterodactyl? Dragon? World Ducky? You decide.

Or maybe it's just a concretion. How's the knitting coming along?

Project 1 has been received and a picture returned!

Project 2 is so nearly done, but of course I screwed up right at the end.

Project 3 is done and out for delivery!

Project 4 is still hibernating.

Project 5 is going to be finished on time, despite "on time" being a bit of a movable goal post.

Project 6 will be getting my full attention shortly.

Project 7 is done!

Coals to Newcastle

There's no way Blue Apron could have known how little we needed a delivery of cherry tomatoes this fall, but I couldn't resist labeling the tableau I found on the kitchen counter one morning.

Meanwhile, how's the knitting going?

Project 1 is out for delivery. In my excitement, I forgot to take a picture, but the recipient has been good about providing one before, so I'm hopeful.

Project 2 is almost three-quarters done.

Project 3 is cast on and already half done!

Project 4 is hibernating.

Project 5 is coming along splendidly, although I find some of the instructions alarming. The different dye lot is undetectable to my admittedly cataract-veiled eyes.

Project 6 underwent a second do-over to make sure I use every bit of the wonderful yarn (mislabeled as project 2 last week).

Project 7 is also almost three-quarters done.

I've begun thinking about post-gift knitting...

Here We Are

It is now December. Do you know where your Christmas knitting stands?

Project 1 is done and ready for delivery.

Project 2 underwent a do-over to make sure I used every bit of the wonderful yarn.

Project 3 is ready for casting on.

Project 4 gets worked on in a desultory fashion. It's in danger of being relegated to future, birthday-type use.

Project 5 I'm devoting tomorrow to finishing.

Project 6 is about to lose the last 2 inches due to my failure to check a tricky spot in a timely fashion.

So far I am resisting the siren call of project 7.

Thanks for attending this progress report. Here's the Drops Advent Calendar of free knitting patterns to make up for the lack of pictures in this post.
